These are new open positions for a Product Engineer to join our team Job DescriptionThe Product Engineer will support the Advanced Development Team by planning and leading the design and development of customer projects/products and the R&D of new materials and technologies. Salary Range: $60,000 - $97,000/yrWhat we offer: Yearly provided uniformsSafety shoe allowance of $160Prescription safety glassesEmployer paid family benefit plan RRSP/DPSP Incentives Referral bonusesExtensive hands-on trainingTeam appreciation lunchesKaizen incentive programPaid sick and personal timePaid earned day – 1/year up to 11 max.Paid vacation time – 2 weeks/year Paid company floaters at ChristmasCommunity involvement opportunities Company events – Holiday parties, summer picnic, BBQ’s Stability - 37 years in WoodstockPaid OT for 40+ hours a week or 8+ hours a dayOpportunities for team member growth and development If you are looking to join a company with a friendly atmosphere, and a passionate team with limitless potential, Vuteq is the place for youApply today to join the Vuteq teamPosition Description Support product research and development activity and manage projects through to completion Develop new materials, processes based on our customers’ needs and trendsAttend development project meetings and report target and statusComplete technical presentations both internally and to external customersDevelopment projects: create design of experiments, contacting vendors to acquire equipment and materials, perform tests and trials of designs, prepare and present final findings to appropriate manager and OEM Engineering Prototyping: analyze data received from customers, developing, and building of the prototypeBenchmarking: researching relevant competitors’ products, communicate with the sales department about competitor models, dismantle parts and document findings, present findings to appropriate managerTesting: studying customer standards, setting up jigs and fixtures for tests, perform testing to customers specifications/standards, report findings to appropriate managerMachine development: research new technologies in the Interior industry, collaborate with multiple vendors and suppliers for information, analyze findings and decide further methods of procedures Analyze existing automotive interior parts for safety, performance, and feasibility.Work following PDCA flowSupport and maintain environmental initiatives that reduce waste, energy consumption, and operational impact• Ensure team member compliance with all environmental regulations, policies and industry standards.Qualifications EducationDegree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field or successful completion of a minimum three-year advanced engineering diploma from a college is considered an asset.ExperienceExperience with CATIA V5, Unigraphics, or SolidWorksExperience with PPAP, APQP, DFMEA, PFMEAMS Office (particularly Excel, PowerPoint)Some injection molding knowledge and experience is an advantageExcellent knowledge of plastics & other automotive interior/exterior materials3-5 years’ experience with engineering product development3-5 years’ experience coordinating engineering projects to ensure compliance with customer standards1-2 years of experience in testing equipment exposure (Instron, weather chambers, spray equipment, and 3D printing operation)1-2 years of sewing experience and material knowledge as an assetSkills and AbilitiesAbility to manage time efficiently to meet deadlines set by customersPrioritization skills; ability to adapt to changing demands (internal and/or external) Interpersonal skills; ability to present technical information to customers in a professional environmentConduct statistical analysis of data (performance/dimensional) to understand trends and implement corrective actionDevelop and maintain positive and productive professional relationships with internal (Vuteq) and external customersHigh attention to detailAbility to show versatility and resourcefulness when problem solvingOrganizational skills; ability to organize tasks and deadlines while working on several different projectsActively listening to customers, suppliers, and internal team members on project requirement changesAbility to manage a small group of professionals towards a shared goalCommunicating in a second language would be considered an assetOtherMust have a valid driver’s licenseWhile we appreciate all applications received, only those candidates considered for an interview will be contacted.
