Department: Distribution & TransportationReports to: Supervisor, WarehouseLocation: DCYour Opportunity at ARC’TERYX: As a Distribution Center General Assistant, you assist in all operations (receiving, shipping, returns and value-added services) in the Distribution Center. You work with a team of supervisors and associates to ensure deadlines and safety standards are met. We may operate behind the scenes, but the work we do creates a visibly positive customer experienceIf you were the Distribution Centre General Assistant now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:You receive finished goods according to vendor purchase order and accurately record information electronically.You visually check product to ensure that it is in proper working condition and is not damaged and places incoming items in inventoryYou replenish stock, organize picking bin locations and racking levels by setYou pack and weigh orders, help prepare shipping and related documents.You ensure workplace health and safety requirements are met and takes responsibility for the stock security, cleanliness, and organization of the warehouse.You assist in maintaining 5S practicesHere are some of the things you could be working on in the future:Learn new Distribution Centre operations, process and equipmentLearn different types of customer orders and how to troubleshoot when issues ariseAre you our next Distribution Centre General Assistant?You have strong English verbal and written communication skillsYou have working knowledge of Windows, Outlook, Excel and ERP systemsYou have high attention to detail, excellent organization skills and flexibilityYou have the ability to work well independently and efficiently without direct supervision and to work effectively as a teamYou are able to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlinesYou are willing to share share your knowledge and train other team membersYou have strong interpersonal skills with ability to deal with difficult situation with tact and professionalismYou are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutionsYou are able to balance autonomy and collaborationYou seek the best (but sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitmentYou have CSA approved steel toe footwear$21 - $23 an hourThe starting pay for distribution workers is CAD$ hourly at the time of this posting, with a reasonable estimated pay range of CAD$ - $ within 12 months upon skill assessment.
