The Paint Technician operates paint machines and tools, and uses the specified paint mixes in accordance with automotive engineering specifications, painting procedures and standards.Does this sound like an exciting challenge? Come be a part of this milestone as we embark on this ground-breaking journey togetherWhat You’ll Do: De-grease, remove dirt, old paint or rust from vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint applicationMix paint pigments to match colour specifications or vehicle’s original coloursImplement the paint mixes as specified by the automotive paint engineersPour paint into spray guns and adjust nozzles and paint mixes for proper paint flow and coating thicknessOperate automated body paint systems for various types of vehiclesEnsure the painting processes adopted are performed in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possibleAssist in the development of new paint processes and proceduresMonitor painting operations to identify flaws, such as blisters and streaks, and correct their causesEnsure repairs flow through the workshop and identify issues that result in failureUnderstand repair methodologyAct as an active team member who encourages a collaborative working environment focusing on the customer and what matters to themDeliver on promises made to customers ensuring they will be without their vehicles for the shortest possible timeMaintain quality and technical standards within the Paint areaPromote Aviva AutoCare Centre values and goalsWhat You’ll Bring: High school diploma or equivalentExperiencewithin the automotive repair industryExcellent customer service skillsStrong knowledge of automotive/equipment preventative maintenance, refurbishment and repair practices and proceduresDemonstrates adaptability and openness to change with a proactive mindset in embracing new work practices and technologiesProficiency using body shop management systems; knowledge of Body Shop Connect preferredExcellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skillsStrong ability to multi-taskCommitment to an environment of continuous improvementEfficient communication and conflict resolution skillsDetail oriented approach with an emphasis on Quality controlAbility to take direction and perform well under pressureStrong awareness of safety practices and proceduresWhat You’ll get: Competitive annual base salary that reflects your skills, experience, job-related knowledge and relevant qualificationsMedical and dental benefitsEligibility for annual bonus – actual amount depends on your performance, and Aviva AutoCare CentreVarious retirement savings options including participation in optional group RRSP Competitive vacation packageWe offer exceptional career development opportunitiesWe’ll support your professional development educationUniforms will be provided based on your role Clean and safe work environment, including on site showers and break roomPlease note that we may use AI tools to help us through the recruitment process.
