The purpose of this program is to provide students passionate about research in psychology with paid positions that they can feature in their future applications for research jobs and graduate programs in psychology. Each position will involve 65 hours of work and the salary will be approximately $2,072 (based on the current salary paid to CUPE undergraduate students). The eligibility requirements to apply for these positions are:Identify as a BIPOC individual. BIPOC stands for Black, Indigenous, or Person of Colour. We follow the Statistics Canada definition of this term, which includes Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, South Asian, Chinese, Filipino, Latin American, Arab, Southeast Asian, West Asian, Korean and Japanese and other racialized people; AND/ORIdentify as a first-generation university student. The term refers to students whose parents or primary caregivers did not complete a university degree.*Currently enrolled in the 2nd year or higher of either our BA or BSc degree in psychology; Have a CGPA of at least 7.0 at the time of application.Successful completion of PSY 2174 (Research Methods & Ethics) or an equivalent undergraduate-level research methods course at the time of application.Be legally eligible to work in Canada.Not been a recipient of a BIPOC/first-generation RAship through this initiative before.*Please note that BIPOC first-generation students will be prioritized for this opportunity. To apply for these positions, please complete your application directly on Workday AND also, please complete the form found at the following link: The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee of the School of Psychology will determine the successful applicants.
