This role is perfect for candidates with strong communication and organizational skills who thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.Join us and take the first step towards a rewarding career in the oil and gas industryWhat you will learnGain an understanding the Plains Emergency and Security Management Programs & regulatory requirements in order to support maintenance of these programs:Support the development and execution of emergency response and security exercises and trainingThis may require travel in Canada (about 15% of time) and to the USALead the delivery of select Environmental Emergency (E2) exercises in CanadaComplete post exercise and training reports (After Action Reports)Post and track action items in tracking softwareSupport and maintain updates to Emergency Response Plans (ERP’s)Conduct internal assurance activities as required by the ProgramsGain knowledge of the Incident Command System and be able to use it in exercises and trainingDevelop the ability to use the tools, resources and forms required for emergency responseComplete and present assigned projects, showcasing your learning and contributionsTackle ad-hoc analytical assignments and reporting, gaining versatile analytical experienceWho you areSelf-motivated with ability to work independentlySkilled at communicating recommendations/findings clearlyEffective working in a fast-paced environmentComfortable presenting work in team meetingsStrong attention to detail and organizational abilitiesFlexible and adaptable to changeMinimum qualificationsPreference will be given to second, third, or fourth year students enrolled in full-time studies in a post-secondary institution, working towards a bachelors degree in the field of environmental science, emergency management or a related educational field;You will not graduate from your current bachelor’s program prior to the end date of this internship.Ability to commit to a 12-month work term starting January 5, 2026Past entry level work experience doing customer service or relevant internships are considered an asset.Experience working with MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Sharepoint, and Outlook).Willingness to relocate to Calgary for the entire duration of the term.Ability to provide three satisfactory references from past managers/teachers and pass a Criminal Background Check.How to ace your interviewApplication Essentials: Include your resume, cover letter, and transcript.Stay Updated: Check your email (including junk folder) frequently.Preparation Tips:Learn about the midstream industry (TIP: ).Understand our , recent , or read our .Dress and communicate professionally.Inform us of any vacation plans or changes in availability.Prepare questions to ask at the end of your interview.As a student at Plains you'll receive a competitive compensation, industry leading work experience, and the opportunity to take part in a variety of social events with colleagues.
