Hiring Senior Data Engineer in Toronto, Ontatio

Location: Toronto, Ontatio Duration: Full-Time Introduction We are looking for a highly skilled professional with deep expertise in cloud-native data solutions, data warehouse migration, and pipeline orchestration. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using Snowflake, Databricks, and Apache Airflow, with a focus on data migration from Oracle to DBT Snowflake. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 8 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role Proven expertise in Snowflake: data warehousing, performance tuning, and security Strong experience with Databricks: Spark SQL, PySpark, Delta Lake Extensive experience with Apache Airflow for pipeline orchestration Demonstrated success in data migration projects, especially from Oracle to SQL Server or other RDBMS Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages such as Python and Scala Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP Solid understanding of data modeling techniques (e.g., dimensional modeling, normalization) Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills Preferred Skills & Qualifications Experience with additional data migration tools and techniques Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance standards Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for data solutions Certifications in Snowflake, Databricks, or cloud platforms Day-to-Day Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize robust data pipelines using Snowflake, Databricks, and Apache Airflow Lead and execute data migration initiatives from Oracle to DBT Snowflake, including schema conversion, data transfer, and validation Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes for ingesting, transforming, and loading data from diverse sources Implement and manage data quality checks and governance standards Collaborate with data architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline performance to ensure data integrity and availability Maintain comprehensive documentation for pipelines, models, and migration processes Stay current with emerging data technologies and industry best practices Company Benefits & Culture Comprehensive health and wellness benefits Opportunities for professional development and growth A diverse and inclusive work environment that values collaboration and innovation For immediate consideration please click APPLY to begin the screening process with Alex.
