Consumer Credit Adjudicator

Role OverviewReporting to the Manager, Consumer Credit Solutions the Consumer Credit Adjudicator is responsible for credit adjudication in the consumer granting processes throughout the organization and ensures all consumer credit activities are in compliance with ACU policies and procedures. This position works closely with the Advice & Service Delivery team acting as an advisor and business partner ensuring that the credit union's credit risk management goals are met, contribute to the growth of the credit union and proactively support the seven principles of member experience. Key Accountabilities Responsible for analyzing consumer credit requests and makes appropriate credit decisions based on the information available and established policies. Accountable for maintaining current and relevant knowledge of industry trends, accounting and regulatory practices, competitor products and strategies. Ensures all consumer lending practices are in compliance with sound business practices, legislation, policies and procedures. Review and approve credit applications within assigned discretionary lending limit and service standards Review and recommend credit applications in excess of assigned discretionary lending limits. Provide second level approvals for Dealer Finance lending. Provides leadership, direction and advice to Advice & Service Delivery team in order to solve complex problems in consumer lending and risk management. Accountable for managing risk in the consumer credit granting process Acts as an ambassador for the Credit Union by being visible in the organization and the community in support of corporate and community initiatives. Understands, respects, and supports the Credit Union’s commitment to corporate social responsibility. Assists with the regular review of lending limits, audit controls and other credit risk management areas to ensure credit quality. Responsible to identify and report on incidences of non-compliance Assists with the accurate and comprehensive preparation of regular and adhoc reports Provides subject matter expertise and support to relevant project, development and implementation teams. QUALIFICATIONS Education and experience The competencies for the position would typically be acquired through the achievement of bachelor’s degree plus five to seven years of related lending and/or credit adjudication experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
