An exciting opportunity awaits

We currently have an opportunity for multiple Consumer Loans Agents to join our team in our Linden Ridge branch. The Consumer Loans Agent seeks to provide support to the Consumer Lending department by monitoring member accounts and delivering exceptional service to both existing and potential members through promotion and sales of consumer lending products and services, primarily loans, lines of credit and mortgage refinances/renewals.

Specific Responsibilities

• Analyze and adjudicate applications for Mortgages, Loans and Lines of Credit based on character, capacity and collateral to assess credit worthiness while safeguarding member deposits and the viability of the credit union
• Attend to and decision various daily and monthly reports; ensuring appropriate follow up and action is taken
• Conduct interviews via email or telephone with members to identify lending needs
• Respond to members' inquiries on lending services by providing information on the features and benefits of products and services; resolve routine member concerns
• Respond to department referrals and refer cross-selling opportunities to other SCU departments
• Ensure all assigned lending activities are in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary education in business and/or 1 to 3 years of lending experience in the Credit Union System, bank or other financial environment
• Experience excelling in a dynamic, fast-paced sales environment with a focus on member service, meeting targets, and driving results
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate across teams
• Proven ability to analyze complex information and make sound, informed decisions
• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships
• Exceptional ability to prioritize tasks, stay organized, manage time effectively, plan strategically, and follow through on commitments

• Digital literacy using a variety of systems and tools

• Knowledge of Credit Union products, services, and systems would be considered an asset
• Mandarin language skills would be an asset.
