Construction Surveyor

Thompson Construction Group is currently seeking a Construction Surveyor to join our Fort McMurray operations area.Responsibilities: Perform daily site layout and staking in line with project design. Complete topographic field pickups. Support and troubleshoot survey layout and GPS machine control (Trimble/TOPCON). Collaborate with project managers and field superintendents. Accurately record and document survey data. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years’ experience in GPS-based construction layout (Trimble or TOPCON). Proficient in reading and using DTM surfaces, DXF files and data collectors. Solid understanding of staking for roads, pads, and ponds. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Centre or Terramodel is required. Strong multitasking, time management and organizational skills. Diploma in Geomatic or Civil Engineering Technology is an asset. Valid Class 5 driver’s license. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively. CSTS/OSSA or CSO Certification. Ground Disturbance, H2S Alive and First Aid is considered an asset. Must be physically fit and able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test.
