Data Governance Specialist

As a key member of the Data Services team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our MDM environment, and the implementation of scalable data governance practices.This role combines hands-on MDM tool administration with strategic governance responsibilities to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and trustworthiness of enterprise data assets.Key Responsibilities:MDM AdministrationAdminister and enhance the Semarchy xDM platform, including data modeling, match/merge rule configuration, survivorship logic, and workflow designMaintain and monitor the performance, integrity, and reliability of the MDM environmentLead MDM implementation activities across new domains and business unitsCollaborate with Data Engineering team to connect MDM with the ERP, CRM, and analytics platformsTroubleshoot and resolve MDM issues; maintain platform documentation and metadataProvide input into MDM architecture, version upgrades, and environment planningExperience with other MDM tools such as Informatica MDM, Reltio, SAP MDG, or Oracle MDM is a strong assetData GovernanceDefine and implement data governance policies, standards, and stewardship modelsConfigure and manage our data catalog and governance tool (Secoda) to support metadata management, business glossary, and data lineageSupport enterprise data quality initiatives by establishing monitoring and reporting frameworksEngage with business and technical stakeholders to assign data ownership and ensure accountabilityProvide training and support to data stewards and users across departmentsPromote data literacy, consistency, and transparency through stewardship enablementFamiliarity with other data governance and catalog platforms such as Collibra, Alation, Atlan, or Microsoft Purview is preferredQualifications5+ years of experience in MDM, data governance, or enterprise data management rolesHands-on experience with Semarchy xDM or similar MDM toolsExperience administering or configuring Secoda or other modern governance platformsStrong SQL and data modeling skillsExperience with ERP and CRM platforms, particularly in relation to master dataDeep understanding of data quality, stewardship, metadata, and governance frameworksStrong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work independently and collaboratively across both technical and business teamsJoin our team and enjoy the benefits of full-time year-round employment with competitive rates and a comprehensive benefits package tailored to support your well-being and career growth.Benefits Package:Health Benefits: Includes coverage for dental, vision, and extended medical care.Insurance: Life and disability insurance provided for financial security.Support Services: Access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Financial Planning: Opportunity for RRSP matching to support your retirement savings.Time Off: Paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave for work-life balance.Wellness: Wellness programs and access to on-site gym facilities (available in some locations).Career Development: Professional growth opportunities and avenues for advancement.Perks: Employee discounts on company products or services.Convenience: On-site parking or parking allowance.If you're looking to join a supportive team environment with opportunities for personal and professional development, apply now and become part of our dynamic team.The Why Why Cooke?
