Police Client Service Representative

The Opportunity:The Police Client Service Representative is responsible for providing quality client service in a face to face environment through the use of multiple police databases. This includes processing, receiving, and recording motor vehicle collision reports, general inquiries and requests for service, criminal record and vulnerable sector checks, and non-criminal related fingerprint processing.As our preferred candidate, you will have:Grade 12Must have 3 years’ of direct front facing customer service experience in a Police environment; may consider 3 years’ experience in a related legal environment as an equivalent.1 year of experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.Must be well versed and highly knowledgeable in the statutes and laws of Canada, including but not limited to The Criminal Code of Canada, Provincial and Federal Statutes, and Municipal BylawsMust possess excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to be self-motivated and work independently with little supervisionMust possess the ability to work independently with strong decision making capabilities and critical problem solving skills with the ability to remain calm in emergent and stressful situations.Display strong written and oral communication skills.Discretely handle sensitive information while maintaining confidentialitySuccessfully obtain and maintain Community Peace Officer status level II for the purpose of serving legal documents.Must be a Commissioner of Oaths for the Province of Alberta; or able to obtain this status.Ability to pass RCMP security clearance prior to receiving an offer of employment.Must maintain RCMP security clearance throughout employment.Must be able to successfully complete tested courses in: PROS (end user), CPIC, CIIDS, and any other applicable computer systems and databases.Ability to type 45wpm accurately.Must satisfactorily complete Police Client Service Representative training.Ability to work shift work.Affiliation:Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 417Remuneration:$34.65 to $36.69 per hour. (2025 Rates)Hours of Work:Hours of work as scheduled with no minimum guarantee. Additional Information:Must successfully pass a stringent RCMP Security Clearance before commencing employment.
