**The Opportunity**:
The Police Training Associate is responsible for the monitoring and tracking of all mandatory and developmental training for both the RCMP and Municipal Policing Services (MPS). This includes facilitating, coordinating, and in some cases providing instruction for internal and external courses, workshops, training and/or seminars. Administers, maintains and monitors RCMP Travel and Expense Application Module (TEAM) System(s).
- Grade 12 plus a minimum of one-year post-secondary education in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Office Administration or equivalent.
- Must be able to achieve system certifications as required.
- Must successfully pass all safety certificate courses currently required and others to be defined by the Province or by the City.
- 5 years (minimum) working in an operational policing environment.
- Must be able to obtain a RCMP security clearance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Criminal Code and legal system.
- Successful completion of Police Reporting and Operational System (PROS) course.
- Previous experience as a training coordinator would be an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, instructional techniques and flexibility.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and /or (TEAM) resource management systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Stay informed with emerging policing technologies and legislation changes related to Red Deer RCMP members and MPS employee mandatory training.
- Proficient with computers for documentation and record keeping.
Excellent judgement, tact, and discretion; commitment to confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, instructional techniques and flexibility.
- Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to be self-motivated and work independently with little supervision.
- Must possess strong decision-making capabilities and critical problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

**Remuneration**:
$40.46 to $42.59 per hour.

**Hours of Work**:
75 hours biweekly. Some evenings and weekends way be required.
