Dispatchers help direct the collection of donations as well as the delivery of donations to Savers stores in the most efficient manner. Dispatchers are also responsible for collecting all of the daily route data and entering the data in the information management system.Operate computer-aided communications and dispatching equipmentAssist with setting up the daily routes and assignmentsCommunicate add-ons and cancellations to drivers Understand local streets and help drivers, when needed, complete routes and any other assigned stops efficiently through verbal communicationAssist drivers with unexpected situations at donor’s homesDocument driver start times, ending times, breaks, lunches and estimated pick-upsProcess and transmit information and instructionsSchedule assignments and coordinate activities of driversAct as liaison between donors, drivers, dispatch personnel according to schedules and work ordersFollow up on issues with donor pick-upsAccount for all of the driver’s daily paperworkPerform other duties as assignedWhat you have:General knowledge of the highway systems in which the drivers workDemonstrate professional interpersonal relationship skillsDemonstrated strong customer service skills Demonstrate skills showing initiative, personal responsibility and accountability Strong working knowledge of managing two way communicationsDemonstrated organization skillsAbility to communicate orally and in writingAbility to multi-task several incoming and outgoing communications at any one given timeAbility to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formAbility to set priorities, meet deadlines with flexibility, and multi-task with minimal directionAbility to be detailed-orientedAbility to work in fast paced environment with pressure to meet deadlinesAbility to work within Savers cultureMinimum Required Education, Training and Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent1 - 2 years prior work experience in distribution, logistics, customer service or call center helpfulKnowledge and Experience with Business Equipment and Computer Applications:General office equipment, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), search tools, map tools and other information management systemsKnowledge of DOT, OSHA, state and Savers safety regulations and requirementsPhysical Requirements:Ability to sit, stand, walk and speak Accommodations made for mobility and/or visually impaired applicantsMinimum Age Requirements:Must be at least 18 years of age.FLSA:Non-ExemptTravel:Related to position only within geographical area and essential functions or other areas as assignedValue Village is committed to fair and accessible employment practices.
