They provide group education and exercise as a key part in this program. Physiotherapy assessment involves obtaining a detailed medical history, performing specific and standardized tests and evaluation procedures to determine a physical diagnosis. Holistic treatment programs are developed using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical and hydrotherapy techniques to assist the patient in regaining and/or maintaining an optimal level of function. The Physiotherapist is educated and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members and caregivers in regard to health promotion, physiotherapy treatment and patient management. This position provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students and supervision of physiotherapy assistants and aides.
