Reporting and Process Support Analyst

Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity? As a key member of the RBC Capital Markets COO Office Trade Expense Management team, you will be responsible for analyzing, processing, and reporting on trade execution fees and other related expenses to improve cost transparency and identify savings opportunities.Additionally, you will support the Cost Analyst team in expanding its cost savings base through process optimization and strengthening controls while contributing to budgeting and new business evaluation processes.What will you do?Stakeholder Engagement & StrategyEngage with key stakeholders of all various levels to conceptualize and develop Management Information (MI) intended for decision-making, analysis, and cost controlPartner with the Cost Analyst team to review and document existing processes, develop new processes, and recommend enhancements for process efficienciesContribute to business initiatives through data modelling and analysisBecome a subject matter expert on current and emerging technologies that drive value for the teamRisk, Control & DevelopmentFocus on control and risk, providing accurate MI to senior management around aged invoicesSupport control functions by monitoring vendor SLAs, managing exceptions, and performing quality assurance for the Cost Analyst team and SmartStreamEnsure completeness and accuracy of journal entries and monthly accrualsSupport process improvement and automation initiatives, ensuring risk and control are integrated throughoutDevelop cross-functional expertise within the team to maintain service continuityOperations & DeliveryOversee monthly production reporting runs ensuring reports are created and delivered on scheduleManage all incoming change requests, prioritize development activities and coordinate weekly release cyclesPerform GL reconciliations in PEGA and ensure that all trade-execution fees received are processed within monthly timelinesAnalyze international recharges and provide commentary to appropriate Business Support contactsWhat you need to succeed?Must-have Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or 3-5 years of experience in Capital Markets, Securities Trading, Brokerage, or similar environmentExperience with financial control frameworks and processesKnowledge of global providers of 3rd party trade execution services including Brokers, Exchanges, Clearing and Settlement Agents, Securities Depositories, Custodians, and RegulatorsUnderstanding of RBC Capital Markets organizational structure (including front office sales and trading, middle office, product control, back-office operations, regulatory/compliance, etc.)Familiarity with RBC Capital Markets products and their associated supporting systems in use within the organization (Fixed Income, Money Markets, Equities, Derivatives, etc.)Understanding of RBC Capital Markets accounting procedures and systems including Broadridge, RIMMS, GLOSS, and EPMHighly organized with an attention to detail and an ability to analyze informationAbility to communicate complex information clearly to trading business and senior managementComfortable with adhering to deliverables in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentIntermediate to advanced level knowledge of ExcelNice-to-haveCPA or CFA designationExperience working in Revport and TableauIntermediate to advanced level knowledge of VBA and SQLWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
