Job DescriptionAECOM's Architectural Business unit Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is actively seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for immediate employment. The role can be based out of any of our offices across Canada with hybrid work options. This position is for a newly created position.B+P Canada is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building’s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to: Transit and Municipal, Commercial, and Institutional projects, Justice, Education and Government.Job Summary:This role is suited for an experienced professional who will lead complex design tasks and provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced engineers. The position supports a range of infrastructure projects in the Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability sectors, with a focus on quality, innovation, and efficient project delivery. Major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:Independently perform and lead detailed electrical design and analysis across various infrastructure sectors.Prepare and review technical specifications, reports, calculations, and construction drawings.Propose design approaches and solve advanced engineering problems using in-depth knowledge and prior experience.Identify discrepancies and develop corrective strategies proactively.Lead and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integration and quality delivery.Conduct field investigations, condition assessments, and construction-phase support.Manage portions of projects including budget, schedule, and deliverables.Serve as a mentor and technical guide to junior engineers, EITs, and technicians.Actively contribute to project planning, proposal writing, and client interactions.Maintain knowledge of evolving technologies, codes, and practices to support technical leadership. QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering + Six (6) years of experience as or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario in good standing.Preferred Qualifications:5+ years of experience in electrical engineering after receiving the P.Eng., including leadership in design delivery.Proven experience across Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability sectors.Advanced proficiency in design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM).Strong leadership, project management, and client communication skills.Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex technical tasks and mentor others.Experience delivering projects from concept through construction support phases.Ability to lead QA/QC reviews and enforce quality standards.Additional InformationRelocation is not available for this position.Sponsorship is not available for this position.About AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
