Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity ?This position is primarily responsible for ensuring all Branch payments are completed in established timeframes as outlined in KPI (Key Performance Indicator). This individual acts as a key referral point for same day/future value payments from Payments Operators, Correspondents Banks, Service Partners and other Lynx FI Participants.Please note this is a contract position.What will you do?Act as a Sr. Repair Operator act as a referral point for all Payments Processing staff, P&T Client Services, LYNX Participants and other internal / external clients with regards to branch payment items.Responsible for the timely and accurate processing and verification of payment s, as per hourly requirements, utilizing all available tools and resources i.e. SRF; Unit Directory; Broadcast Messages; CPA Banks/Trust/Credit Directories; co-workers etcEnsures all required fields, on Payments being repaired, are completed and formatted properly.Enter; Repair and/or Verify payments in Funds Transfer in strict accordance to SWIFT; LYNX.; CPA.; FED; CHIPS; Industry Guidelines; and RBC Policy.Ensures all assigned queues are cleared to meet established deadlines and displays flexibility relative to working occasional overtime and supporting the US coverages as necessaryFurther ensure that operational, financial and reputational risk is mitigated through the prioritization of workflow and being aware of various cut-off times and associated responsibilities.Adhere to the overall business KPI requirements of 12.5 per month in keeping errors to a minimumFully support the reductions of corrections and unnecessary Payment Exception transactions in adherence to internal quality assuranceReport any suspicious transactions to an Assistant Manager or Senior Officer within Payment Services.Avoid sundry losses/LOC and minimize operational risk by ensuring that the proper due diligence are followed according to procedures. Adhere to exception processes established within Payment Services to mitigate operational, reputation and business risk.Ability to produce 6.5+ hours of payments accordingly to daily benchmarkProvides timely input and feedback to Management, or relevant service partner, in a continuous effort to improve quality and productivity i.e. Straight- through processingResponsible for the development of a continuous learning philosophy by enhancing competencies through self-development plans i.e. coaching; RBC Campus; cross-training; job-shadows; etc.Bypass process will be closely monitored to ensure that high attention is being paid to the accuracy of output, while delivering against the required benchmarksEmployees on Direct Drive must “consistently meet hurdle”  of 36 credits/hrReturns any incomplete payment instructions to the branch and / or obtains guidance from Payment Exception Officers.Fully support the reductions of corrections and unnecessary Payment Exception transactions in adherence to internal quality assuranceAdhere to the overall business KPI requirements as per Performance Management per month by keeping errors to a minimum.Routes items to Wires Helpdesk to contact client and “appends” the payment with “clear and concise” information to complete payment instructions.Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all unqualified payments received from different interfaces, as per hourly requirements, utilizing all available tools and resources i.e. SRF, UD, Banking Arrangement, CHIPS, TGBR, CPA Banks/Trust/Credit Directories, co-workers etc.Provides timely input and feedback to Manager or relevant service partners in a continuous effort to improve quality and productivity i.e. STPResponsible for the development of a continuous learning philosophy by enhancing competencies through self-development plans i.e. coaching; RBC Campus; cross-training; job-shadows; videos, books; etc.Avoid sundry losses/LOC and minimize operational risk by ensuring that the proper due diligence are followed according to procedures. Further ensure that operational, financial and reputational risk are mitigated through the prioritization of workflow and being aware of various cut-off times and associated responsibilities [i.e. Effective management of queues]On an ongoing basis, assures fulfillment of Internal Audit, SOX, Policy & Procedure, RCA and MICR requirements.Demonstrate flexibility to work occasional overtime and rotate working on statutory holidays.Bypass process will be closely monitored to ensure that high attention is being paid to the accuracy of output, while delivering against the required benchmarksWhat do you need to succeed?
