I feel welcome and at home.” Pay Range$17.82- $20.41VHA's Home Support Worker is responsible for providing practical household assistance, socialization, and emotional support to diverse client groups, including adults and children, to maintain the activities of daily living in the home. This may include cleaning, meal preparation, laundry, shopping and banking. Household and support activities are performed in such a manner as to encourage independence of the client and the prevention or delay of institutionalization. All activities are conducted within the policies, procedures and standards of confidentiality of VHA.Key Areas of AccountabilityVHA's Home Support Worker have the following key areas of accountability, but not limited to:Provides homemaking and support to clients who are ill and unable to carry out normal household routines, or activities of daily living in their homes, including cleaning, laundry, child care, etc. Acompannies clients on walks, shopping, attending appotinments, providing companionship and encouraging client towards independence.
