You will be using your exceptional customer service skills to uphold the safety of passengers and create a positive travel experience by:Efficiently screening passengers and baggage through airport security checkpointsConfirming valid boarding passesScanning and testing baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors, other technology, along with physical search techniquesProtecting restricted areasManaging conflictCommunicating clearly and effectivelyUpholding all regulations with vigilanceWhat You Bring: Excellent customer service skills, preferably in a high-volume environment for a minimum of one (1) yearOpen availability to work any shift as required by the airport operations, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and statutory holidaysStrong English communication skills, both written and verbal; fluency in French is an assetAbility to comply with the CATSA medical requirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED)Current resident of Victoria, or the surrounding areaMust be a Canadian citizen or a permanent residentThis role will be fully based at Victoria International Airport (YYJ).Work Hours: Hours of work can be anywhere between 3.30am to midnight, so candidates with open availability to work morning, afternoon, and overnight shifts are preferred.If you are successful in the application process, you will be required to apply for a Transport Security Clearance (TSC), which requires an extensive background check. Once obtained, you will be eligible to begin the Screening Officer Foundations (SOF) course, which much be successfully passed prior to beginning work as a Pre-Board Screening Officer. #PASS1A
