Job Title: Millwright Reports To: Operations Manager Location: Hamilton, Ontario Pay Range: $28-34/hour Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM Employment Type: Full-time with benefits Why Join Our Team: The Millwright is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting industrial machinery and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal plant operations. Description of Job Duties: Install, align, and dismantle industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and drawings. Fabricate and modify parts using welding, machining, and hand tools as needed. Utilize operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications to complement decision-making. Align motors, couplings, and shafts using precision measuring tools (e.g., dial indicators, laser alignment tools). Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems- install, repair, and maintain cylinders, valves, and hoses. Perform preventive maintenance and ensure machines operate efficiently and safely. Operate forklift, crane, and scissor lift to transport materials, machinery, and components. Maintain detailed maintenance records and update work orders in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Work with internal customers to improve processes and equipment efficiency. Locate root causes of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, inspections, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments. Apply excellent fabrication techniques, machine shop practices, and welding skills to construct, repair, and modify apparatus. Conserve maintenance resources by using available equipment and supplies to complete work. Qualifications, Experience & Required Skills: In process or completion of a recognized millwright apprenticeship or relevant trade certification (e.g., Red Seal Millwright - 433A Millwright License). 2 years of hands-on experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Demonstrated understanding and competence with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and devices regarding their installation, repair, troubleshooting, and dismantling. Physical ability and cognitive aptitude to perform the essential duties of the job. Familiarity with safety devices on all machines and devices. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Basic computer skills. Preferred: Experience in PLC programming is an asset. Experience in Stick, MIG, and TIG welding. Experience operating equipment such as lathes and milling machines. Experience in, and ability to be certified in, forklift, overhead crane, and scissor lift operation.
