Job DescriptionThe AECOM Highway Bridge Group in British Columbia is seeking a self-motivated and team-oriented Bridge Construction Inspector to support bridge projects across British Columbia. This role will primarily involve supporting project management and design teams by delivering on-site bridge construction inspection, quality assurance, contract administration, etc... Projects are expected to be located in both urban and rural areas.  Key Responsibilities:Review contractor submissions and coordinate responses with the  design teamMonitor contract quantities and prepare and/or support contractor progress estimatesInspect contractor work to ensure compliance with contract requirementsChair project meetings and prepare meeting minutesCoordinate with Owners Representatives on project status and potential issues as neededReview contractor quality control measures to confirm adherence to contract specificationsPrepare inspection reports and other documentation required by the clientCoordinate and work with Sub-Contractors and Trades as requiredMaintain a daily written diary of key conversations and site activitiesCollect and organize engineering data using established proceduresPerform routine engineering tasks involving calculations and basic testingPropose solutions to new problems encountered in the fieldIdentify discrepancies in project results and escalate as appropriateProvide guidance to junior engineers or team membersPerform tasks within the defined budget and schedule with minimum supervisionReview effectiveness and compliance of contractor Traffic Accommodation Strategies and Environmental Compliance Operation Plans QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Technical Diploma with a minimum of 8 years of bridge construction experience Valid Driver’s License Preferred Qualifications:P.Eng or CET designationBachelor's Degree in Civil, Construction, Structural Engineering (or related field) with 6  years of relevant experience15+ years of experience in the bridge construction industryExperience with BCMOTT Bridge Standards & Procedures Manual, specifically Volume 7 and 8Safety training and experience specific to bridge constructionPCI Level I/II certificationExperience in survey and general welding proceduresExperience managing direct client communication and fostering strong working relationshipsExperience with partnered project delivery methodsExperience with alternative delivery models (DB/DBB/IPD-Alliance, etc...)  Additional InformationSponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this positionAbout AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
