**Role Summary**

We are seeking a proactive **Site Safety Officer / Quality Inspector** to join our team. This is a **field-focused role** responsible for monitoring safety standards and ensuring construction quality across all Vasto job sites. Working closely with project managers, superintendents, and trades, you will help maintain compliance with **WorkSafeBC regulations, building codes, and company policies** while fostering a strong culture of safety and excellence.

This role requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while providing guidance and leadership to on-site teams.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Safety Oversight**
- Conduct daily site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC and company safety protocols.
- Lead and document **toolbox talks, safety meetings, and emergency drills**.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure workers and subcontractors follow safe work practices and use PPE correctly.
- Maintain up-to-date safety documentation, including inspection reports, hazard assessments, and incident logs.

**Quality Control**
- Inspect ongoing construction work to ensure it aligns with project drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Verify materials, methods, and workmanship meet required performance levels.
- Support site teams in implementing corrective measures when deficiencies are identified.
- Monitor and document progress to ensure compliance with client expectations and building codes.

**Collaboration & Reporting**
- Work closely with Site Superintendents and Project Managers to address safety and quality concerns.
- Communicate findings clearly and professionally with both field staff and management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in safety culture and construction quality.

**Qualifications**
- 3-5 years of experience in **construction safety, site inspection, or quality assurance**.
- Strong knowledge of **WorkSafeBC regulations, safety standards, and building codes**.
- Certification in **Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), COR/SECOR auditor, or equivalent** is an asset.
- Familiarity with quality assurance/control methods and construction inspection processes.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel between multiple job sites across the Lower Mainland.
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin is an asset.
