Their biggest challenge is to make certain the team understands in detail what they are encouraged to build. The Data Solution Owner needs to develop a strong grasp of the target market and industry, establish close relationships with important customers at mining sites and corporate offices, and define the business strategy for the product. Develop your career with one of Canada's Top 100 Employers and join our team Responsibilities Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and proceduresScope Management: Define and manage the project scope. Plan and implement updates to an array of specialized Mine Engineering systemsPrioritization: Prioritize tasks and features to align with project goalsBacklog Management: Manage the backlog and user storiesRequirements Analysis: Translate business needs into detailed requirements, including functional, non-functional, and data specifications.Roadmap Reporting: Report on the product roadmap to collaborators.Accountability: Be accountable to the Manager, Delivery and Steering CommitteeSolution Assurance: Confirm the solution aligns with business requirementsBudget Ownership: Manage and own the project budget.Team Performance: Ensure a high functioning and performant team by establishing ways of working and team standards.Consistency: Maintain involvement with the product/solution despite changes in technical resources.Site Relationship: Own the relationship with the site alongside the Subject Matter Expert (SME) during product build.Implementation Support: Guarantee the solution is effectively established and assisted by other teams.Qualifications Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Applied Science, or equivalent combination of education and experienceCertification as a Scrum Product Owner and or Scrum Master, or equivalent knowledge/experience is an assetAt least 5 years of experience in a Solution or Product Owner role, including knowledge in all aspects of Product Backlog Management and Product OwnersDeep knowledge of Data/Data Bricks and AzureSolid knowledge of industry trends, user demands, and difficulties, to be able to build a high value product visionConfident enough with technology to participate in conversations with the tech team and grasp potential risksExperience in Agile Development, with specific Product Owner (or similar) experience preferred, should be confident in managing a backlogUnderstanding of development, testing and implementation practices and what goes into crafting quality softwareStrong communication skills with ability to communicate complex messages and tradeoffsAbility to work as a translator between site collaborators and the product teamStrong leadership skills with the ability to build relationships with, and influence, a diverse group of collaboratorsStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to guide a team toward a solution and advancementPassion to challenge status quo, to find new solutions, and drive out of the box ideasNot afraid to go outside of their comfort zone to learnExperimental approach to drive innovationMining industry experience would be an assetAbility to travel to our sites where occasionally required Pay Range: CAD $105,000 - $130,000 per year The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity. Teck—A great place to work Why Teck At Teck, your work matters—to the world, to our communities and to your future. As a leading Canadian resource company, we focus on responsibly providing the metals essential for global development and the energy transition while caring for the people, communities and land that we love.
