Position DescriptionThe primary function of the role is to provide administrative support in developing, implementing and maintaining the Canadian Health & Safety Management System for Contract Logistics.Principal Accountabilities•Collect and maintain H&S related documentation including JHSC minutes, training records, incident reports, •Prepare and distribute H&S related documentation in multiple formats to sites management•Collect H&S Data and maintain database for the site•Develop Corrective Action Plans, (CAP’s), based on internal H&S Audits•Liaise with site leadership to maintain and update CAP’s•Coordinate and facilitate training events•Attend and monitor the Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings at the site •Support the various H&S audit and inspection processes at the site•Respond to H&S related enquires received from within the Canadian network•Represent the organization at any WCB meetings held throughout the year•Support the Return to Work Program and claims management•Coordinate and support the site in the sourcing and supply of H&S related products and services•Record and maintain meeting minutes of site team meetings pertaining to H&S•Conduct employee awareness training•Conduct Hazard Assessments, through task analysis, physical demands analysis, risk assessments and workplace inspections; Recommending and/or implementing corrective action•Contribute to the creation of and/or maintenance of instructional documents, such as SSOP, work procedures and training documents Knowledge and Skills•Working knowledge of the Workers’ Compensation Act, Alberta•Must have completed or is in the process of completing a health and safety degree/certificate/diploma or professional designation•In depth knowledge of all relevant legislation and standards in the province of Alberta•Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook)•Desire to be hands on and “on the floor”•Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, problem solving and conflict resolution skills At DB Schenker, you are part of a global logistics network that connects the world.
