About this roleWe are recruiting a Continuous Improvement Technician to join our Prefab team in Burnaby. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in process engineering by applying Lean principles to enhance workflows and drive efficiency. You'll play a key role in improving safety, quality, and efficiency in our prefab operations.Your responsibilitiesObserve production activities and document current-state workflows, time studies, and labour dataMaintain organized process documentation and assist with improvement initiativesCreate and update process maps and value stream mapsIdentify waste, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities using Lean conceptsSupport the rollout of standard work, visual management, and 5S practicesParticipate in Kaizen events and help track improvement metrics such as cycle time and productivityDocument new workflows for SOPs and training materialsContribute data-driven insights for process enhancements and future capital investmentsSupport broader prefab and continuous improvement initiatives over timeYour experience and skillsDegree or diploma in Manufacturing Engineering or Electrical EngineeringCompletion of at least one co-op term or internship in a construction, manufacturing, or prefabrication environmentFamiliarity with process improvement concepts such as Lean, Value Stream Mapping, or workflow optimizationStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approachEffective communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working in team environmentsBasic knowledge of process mapping tools and familiarity with manufacturing or prefab shop environments an assetOpen to change and committed to continuous learningExperience using computer software: MS OfficeAbout HouleAs BC's leading electrical contractor and systems integrator, we believe in delivering safe, reliable power for the future.
