Position OverviewReporting to the Lead - Physical Plant Services, the Physical Plant Services Coordinator assists in the planning, organizing and directing of the Physical Plant Services department, and is responsible for maintaining a high level of efficiency in the delivery of services to the facility. The incumbent organizes and coordinates the workflow to ensure efficient utilization of resources. The incumbent will also be responsible for participating in the human resource functions within the department as well as ensuring that the department maintains fiscal responsibility in consultation with the Lead - Physical Plant Services. The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud. E-mail humanresources@southernhealth.ca.ExperienceThree (3) years previous experiencing working as a 5th class power engineer in a healthcare facility.Two (2) years previous supervisory experience in a maintenance environment.Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)Grade Twelve (12) Education or equivalent.Completion of a recognized Management Course/Program or equivalent.5th Class Power Engineer Certificate as recognized by the Province of Manitoba.Relevant trade certificate in a field that is specific to the site’s needs are considered an asset, i.e. electrician, plumber, HVAC, millwright, etc.Other suitable combinations of education and experience may be considered.Certification/Licensure/RegistrationNot ApplicableQualifications and SkillsKnowledge and understanding of equipment and systems associated with a 5th class plant.Knowledge of and ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, relevant legislation and equipment manuals.
