This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a desire to grow within the accounting profession. No prior accounting experience is required - just a strong aptitude for numbers, a commitment to learning, and a proactive mindset. Share What you'll do Responsibilities Working under the guidance of senior finance team members, the Junior Accountant will support a broad range of finance functions, including:Accounts Payable & ReceivableProcess vendor invoices and employee expense claimsReconcile corporate Mastercard statements and record related expensesSupport billing activitiesMonitor outstanding receivables and follow up with clientsGeneral Ledger and Month-EndAssist with bank and general ledger reconciliationsSupport month-end closing tasks (e.g., amortization, prepaid expenses, revenue recognition)Prepare and post journal entries as directedMaintain accurate, organized records of all financial transactionsOther DutiesPerform GST/HST/PST/QST reconciliation and filingAssist with audits by preparing supporting documentationProvide administrative support to the finance team as requiredContribute to process improvement initiatives What you'll need Qualifications Required:Strong numeracy and comfort working with dataProficient in Microsoft ExcelExcellent attention to detail and organisational skillsClear communication skills and willingness to ask questionsStrong motivation to learn and develop accounting skillsNice to Have:Post-secondary education in accounting, business, finance, or a related fieldFamiliarity with accounting practicesFamiliarity with cloud-based systems like Salesforce or PayworksExperience working with Indigenous communities or involvement in socially driven organisations We're looking for Core Skills Accounting Communication Skills Microsoft Excel Organizational Skills A little bit about us PLATO Who We ArePLATO is a software testing and technology services company trusted by clients around the world.In addition to providing our clients the highest quality software testing services, PLATO is creating careers in technology for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people from coast to coast to coast through our innovative train-and-employ model.
