NAIT’s Automotive Service Technician Program prepares students to diagnose problems, repair engines, use computer management systems, and adjust vehicles to operate for peak performance. The program will support students to work on cars, trucks, and other vehicles performing repairs, conducting preventative maintenance, and diagnosing faulty systems. Automotive Service Technician program is currently recruiting for a continuous instructor who is an energetic leader, committed to student success, and has outstanding communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. The successful candidate will: have strong technical knowledge in Automotive Service.be able to work both independently and within a team environmentbring passion, enthusiasm, and ideas that will positively contribute to the advancement and growth of the program and the culture of our collaborative and dynamic team Key Responsibilities:Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory and industry settingParticipate in curriculum development, program reviews and course reviewsFacilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materialsManage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environmentCreate assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress recordsProvide early and on-going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success.Respond to student issuesUtilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotionsMaintenance and/or submission of program/student records accurately and promptlyMaintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partnersActively participate in the strategies of NAIT 2021+, NAIT’s Strategic Plan and NAIT’s Academic Plan as identified by the instituteUtilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvementImprove the quality of instruction through professional development activitiesOther duties as assigned Skills & Abilities: Excellent interpersonal SkillsStrong desire to help students succeedExcellent communication skillsKnowledge of computers Qualifications: High School DiplomaCompletion of Automotive Service Technician Alberta Journeyperson certificate or provincial equivalent including Inter-Provincial Red SealMinimum 8 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson ticket.Teaching experience an assetApplicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES). Remuneration: Will commensurate with education and experience, plus 18.5% in lieu of stat. holiday pay and vacation pay. Instructor salary grid $34.48 - $59.98 per hour. However, starting salary for new hires averages between $41.77 - $45.41 per hour normally based on education and experience with room for negotiations. (Classification – Instructor).
