Worker Type: EmployeeJob Post End Date: 01/21/2026About this opportunity:Reporting to the Manager, Lloydminster North Geoscience Development, the Geoscience Technologist plays a key role in supporting geologists, geophysicists, and geomodellers to achieve team objectives. This position ensures efficient workflow management through regular communication, team meetings, work planning, and opportunity prioritization. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, the Geoscience Technologist contributes to the identification, optimization, and development of drilling opportunities across Lloydminster assets.What you’ll do: Support development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of geo-analytical tools and platforms.Collaborate with geoscientists to build and refine subsurface interpretations, maps, reports, and drilling programs.Manage geotechnical projects, including data curation, loading, QC, and integration across software applications.Ensure data governance standards are applied to geoscience workflows and incoming datasets.Maintain and update pad layouts and resource estimates to support long-range planning.Drive workflow optimization initiatives to improve geoscience and reservoir engineering outputs.Prepare documentation and presentations for technical reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.Develop and maintain geoscience databases to ensure data integrity and accessibility.Who you are:Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:Legally authorized to work in CanadaMinimum of 5 years of experience in geoscience technology or related field.Geoscience or Petroleum Technology diploma is an asset.Experience working with subsurface geoscience data (wells, tops, core, LAS, etc.).Advanced proficiency in geoscience software such as Petrel, Studio, ArcPRO, and Generwell (or equivalent).Basic understanding of Python, FME, or other programming languages is an asset.We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.Note: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM MT, January 20, 2026.Cenovus was ranked one of Canada’s Best Employers in 2025.
