Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The Capital Markets, Broker Reconciliations team is looking to hire a summer intern to join its Halifax office. As a Summer Reconciliations Officer, you will provide exceptional service to resolve breaks resulting from settlements of Capital Markets, commercial and retail deals.What will you do?Ensure that quality service is provided and that the Bank is represented in a professional manner at all times.Demonstrate thoroughness and integrity in reconciliation work, ensuring strict adherence to Standing Orders and Terms and Conditions governing our accounts.Ensure that accounts and reports are reviewed and delivered as per procedures and guidelinesIdentify opportunities to further streamline tasks and create efficienciesDevelop good knowledge of products supported by Capital Markets Operations.  Contribute to a Team atmosphereWhat do you need to succeed?Must-have:Excellent organizational skills, ability to learn quickly and prioritize tasks.Work effectively and reliably under pressure with little supervision.Strong interpersonal and communications skills.Good PC and analytical skills and attention to details.Nice-to-haveGood understanding of Capital Markets and banking operations/trading activitySolid understanding of procedures and operational controls as they relate to systems and workflow.Working knowledge of various Systems: Microsoft Word, Excel etc.What’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
