Yard Supervisor

We are currently looking to add a Yard Supervisor to our Grande Prairie Head Office shop.
As the Yard Supervisor, you are responsible for:
  • Completing yard duties (organizing yard, cleaning yard and equipment, plowing, etc.) along with the Yard Hands
  • Supervising the preparation of rental equipment and ensuring timely and accurate execution
  • Managing the secure and precise loading and unloading of equipment and ensuring that all safety protocols are followed
  • Training Yard Hands on yard processes and procedures, and the general maintenance, cleaning, testing and troubleshooting of equipment
  • Taking the lead on yard projects (tool crib prep, etc.) and delegating tasks to Yard Hands
  • Ensuring customer service standards are met and addressing any escalated customer concerns by providing solutions
  • Conducting safety meetings
  • Working with Branch Manager to hire qualified candidates
  • Escalating staff problems to Branch Manager when applicable
  • Identifying areas for process improvements and implementing changes to enhance efficiency
You have the following education, training, and skills:
  • Previous Supervisory experience and the ability to effectively lead a team
  • Excellent time management, organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence 
  • Ability to operate and train employees on material handling equipment, such as forklifts and Bobcats
  • Ability to lift objects over 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions while wearing proper PPE
