Bird is a place where you will unlock your potential and achieve your goals.Reporting to the HSE Manager, Northern Alberta Buildings, the HSE Coordinator supports the project team in safe production throughout the lifecycle of a project. They will ensure work tasks are performed safely in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and company policies and that work is performed with the right safeguards in place.These are field-based positions based on project sites in Edmonton and Surrounding Area, Fort McMurray and future projects in Northern Alberta.What You Will Be Working OnIncident management- initiate notifications, and ensure incidents/accidents are reported, investigated, and documentedConduct orientations for new workers and visitors, and provide training to Bird employeesValidate equipment, processes, and worker competency; inspect onsite safety equipmentConduct frequent site inspections, addressing HSE issues and completing documentationDevelop reports, research HSE information, create site-specific safe work procedures, and provide guidanceReview activities of new trades and ensure compliance with HSE requirementsEvaluate changing site conditions with Bird Project Management for unidentified risksCollaborate with trade partner HSE representatives and workers to address safety concerns and resolve issuesAddress non-compliance issues and utilize the right to stop unsafe work if necessaryWhat We Are Looking ForStrong interpersonal and communication skills: Ability to forge and maintain positive relationships, work collaboratively with a positive attitude, team first mentalityHighly developed written and verbal communication skills5+ years of relevant HSE experienceNCSO certification, CRST/P (or working towards) is preferred.Strong knowledge of commercial constructionValid Class 5 drivers license w/ an abstract in good standingEffective multitasking and time management: Capable of managing multiple priorities, working within tight deadlines, and handling pressure in a dynamic environmentAnalytical and problem-solving abilities: Demonstrates strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detailWe Put Safety FirstA healthy and safe work environment is non-negotiable.
