Job DescriptionWe're looking for Plumber to join our multidisciplinary team at the New Stanton hospital in Yellowknife, NWTThe principal responsibilities of the Plumber are, to inspect, install, repair, and replace pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures to maintain domestic hot and cold-water system, heating water system, medical gas piping system, drainage system and hospital related plumbing fixtures such as, sterilizers, macerator, etc. throughout the hospital including patient rooms and treatment areas. The Plumber performs an effective preventive maintenance schedule and ensuring all mechanical systems and equipment are in good working conditions.Other Details:This is a Hands-On roleThis role requires a Journeyman Plumbing ticket. Other trades/tickets are always a bonusThe Plumber also makes rounds in the mechanical rooms and responds to all trouble calls from various departments throughout the hospital, rectifies or isolates the problems and ensures continuity of their related operationThis position works Monday to Friday 40 hours per weeks and on-call as requested by ManagerThe Plumber will ensure policies and procedures are properly executedRepresent the department with a positive and professional attitudeCompletes assigned tasks in a professional manner and closes the work orders within required time-frame as per Response Time PolicyCommunicate the work status with the client groups via Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS) within the time frame given in Response Time PolicyAdhere to and promote the Occupational Health and Safety legislative and corporate requirementsKeep and maintain records as requiredParticipate in educational programs and In-Service trainingQualificationsWhat we're looking for:A Great AttitudeLicensed Plumber3-5+ years' experience in a similar position (ideally in a hospital or healthcare setting)Solid communications ability (verbal and written)Ability to read and comprehend mechanical, electrical and control drawingsSolid computer proficiency, MS Office, CMMS, etc.Knowledge of Building Automation System (BAS), Plant systems (Chiller, boiler, water treatment etc.) & fire alarm/safety system, pneumatic tube, and Medical Gas System.On-call availability for technical support as required.A background Vulnerable Sector Screening is required.What is also nice to have:Possess a trade ticket.Healthcare and/or Hospital experience.
