Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Mechanical Designer is responsible for translating engineering intent into clear, accurate CAD deliverables used directly by fabrication, assembly, procurement, and quality teams.This position is intended for candidates who are fully fluent in SolidWorks, capable of working independently, and comfortable producing drawings that require minimal clarification or rework before reaching the shop floor.WHAT YOU’LL DO Produce detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for engineered and manufactured nitrogen generation systems using SolidWorks, including assemblies, sub-assemblies, and fabrication detailsGenerate detailed drawings for process piping, tubing, valves, flanges, fittings, regulators, and instrumentation mounting, suitable for fabrication and assemblyCreate and maintain drawings for skid-mounted equipment, including equipment layouts, mounting details, lifting features, and interface pointsMaintain drawing accuracy through revisions, engineering changes, and as-built updatesApply consistent drafting standards, layering, naming conventions, and revision control within the CAD environmentSupport bill of material (BOM) creation and updates for mechanical components and assembliesCollaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve drawing-related questions and ensure manufacturabilityIdentify interferences, missing information, or manufacturability concerns before drawings are released to productionMaintain organized CAD files and documentation within document control and ISO9001:2015Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting standards, templates, and workflowsWHAT YOU BRING College diploma or technical certification in Mechanical Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline and relevant work experienceMinimum 5 years of hands-on experience producing mechanical drawings in an industrial manufacturing or engineered equipment environmentAdvanced proficiency in SolidWorks, with demonstrated ability to work quickly and accuratelyProven ability to produce clear, complete, production-ready drawings with minimal supervisionStrong understanding of mechanical components, materials, fasteners, and common manufacturing processesWorking knowledge of GD&T, tolerancing, and basic tolerance stack-upsExperience working with revision control and document management systems within an ISO9001:2015 frameworkHigh attention to detail and strong ownership of drawing qualityProficiency working in both imperial and metric units.Experience supporting engineered-to-order or capital equipment projectsExposure to pressurized gas systems, piping, skids, frames, or industrial process equipmentFamiliarity with nitrogen and compressed air processes and equipmentAbility to interpret P&IDs and interface effectively with mechanical or process engineersWHAT WE OFFERCompetitive compensation package, including annual performance bonusPaid time off to recharge and refreshHealth & Dental coverage — 100% employer-paidRRSP matching program to help you invest in your futurePhone reimbursement plan to keep you connectedMonthly team lunches to bond and brainstorm over great foodSnacks and drinks in the office to fuel your dayFlexible work arrangements to support work-life harmonyA culture of learning, growth, and innovationOpportunities to shape the future of industrial manufacturingWORK CONDITIONSRegular full-time hours (37.5 hours per week), 5 days per weekPrimary workplace location is the Purity Gas head office (with some flexibility for hybrid)Minimal travel required, with potential for infrequent off-site meetings or eventsWhile we appreciate all applications, we use automated screening tools and questions to help identify candidates who meet the core requirements for this role.
