Gibraltar produces an average of 130 million pounds of copper and 2.5 million pounds of molybdenum each year, with mineral reserves sufficient for more than 20 years of future operations.For more information visit our website .Role OverviewReporting to the Mine Accountant, the Payroll Accountant is an integral position within payroll and finance team supporting Gibraltar’s employees by providing timely and accurate payroll processing as well as providing positive guidance and education to on employees’payroll issues and questions.Please note this position requires the successful incumbent to relocate to Williams Lake, BC, or the surrounding area. This is not a permanent remote working position.Core ResponsibilitiesCollect and enter daily and weekly timecards.Process payroll within established deadlines and established policies.Review and update payroll forms.Complete payroll reconciliations.Prepare annual employee T-4’s and employee records of employment.Post tax, EI and CPP information related to government accounts.Produce internal and external payroll reports, including compliance and statutory reporting.Proactively drive relationship development with internal and external stakeholders.Be a safety leader and mentor to those within the department and site.Education & ExperiencePayroll Compliance Professional (PCP) Designation an asset.Completion of post-secondary education, preferably business or accounting related.High school diplomaTwo or more years of payroll experience, preference for understanding of union contracts.Experience implementing or upgrading payroll/HRISsystems an asset.Skills & CompetenciesWell-developed interpersonal skills.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.High degree of discretion and critical thinking while handling confidential information.Proficient in MS office with a high degree of accuracy.The CommunityWilliams Lake has a population of approximately 12,000 but services nearly 25,000 as it is a central hub for many outlying smaller communitiesAdult recreational leagues for many popular sports including hockey, soccer, and softballA fantastic trail network for mountain biking, walking, and hikingDozens of nearby lakes for fishing, paddling, and camping opportunitiesClose by cross country and downhill skiing venuesCompensationAt all Taseko locations, we pride ourselves in offering a challenging and rewarding work environment.
