Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position leads the maintenance team, manages preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and oversees facility systems such as HVAC, electrical, water, compressed air, and other utilities. The Supervisor also coordinates facility repair and renovation projects, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.This is a permanent, full-time opportunity to join a growing team and directly support JY Care’s commitment to high-quality Canadian manufacturing.The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for:Equipment Maintenance & TroubleshootingSupervise and perform corrective and preventive maintenance on production and packaging equipment according to standards and schedules.Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues based on test results, error messages, and operator feedback.Coordinate rapid response to equipment breakdowns, ensuring minimal production disruption.Collect, document, and analyze maintenance data to identify recurring issues and implement long-term corrective measures.Preventive Maintenance (PM) & UtilitiesDevelop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.Oversee operation and maintenance of production-related utilities, including water, electricity, compressed air, gas, and HVAC systems.Track and report PM completion rates, system reliability, and improvement initiatives.Facility Maintenance & Project CoordinationPlan, supervise, and coordinate building maintenance and facility improvement projects, including HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, and electrical distribution.Manage and monitor contractors and service providers for facility-related work such as renovations, repairs, or installations.Ensure all facility systems comply with health, safety, environmental, and building codes.Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for building assets and critical systems.Support expansion or layout modification projects, coordinating with production and external contractors.Maintain records of facility inspections, service contracts, and repair documentation.Spare Parts Inventory & BudgetingManage spare parts and maintenance materials inventory to ensure availability and cost control.Prepare and manage the annual maintenance and facility budget.Work with Purchasing to ensure timely procurement and vendor performance.Documentation & ComplianceMaintain accurate maintenance and facility records, logs, and PM schedules according to ISO 13485, GMP, and company SOPs.Support internal and external audits related to maintenance, calibration, and facility systems.Ensure all maintenance activities follow environmental and safety regulations.Technical Support & Cross-Department CollaborationSupport installation, start-up, and validation of new production and facility equipment.Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Warehouse, and EHS teams to align maintenance priorities.Coordinate maintenance shutdowns, upgrades, and preventive activities to minimize production impact.Communicate effectively across departments and with external contractors to ensure timely project completion.Leadership, Health, Safety & Continuous ImprovementLead, schedule, and assign daily maintenance and facility tasks according to production and operational priorities.Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance team members to build capability and accountability.Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment or facility issues and implement sustainable solutions.Promote a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.Establish maintenance KPIs (downtime reduction, PM completion, response time, energy efficiency) and monitor team performance.Lead safety inspections and ensure all work complies with occupational health and safety standards.RequirementsCollege diploma or university degree in Electro-Mechanical, Automation, Building Systems, or a related field.5+ years of maintenance experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (healthcare, food, pharma, or NHP).At least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience managing maintenance or facility teams.Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.Proven experience overseeing facility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, utilities) and coordinating renovation or infrastructure projects.Hands-on knowledge of preventive maintenance planning, CMMS systems, and budget management.Strong communication, organizational, and cross-functional leadership skills.Fluent in English;
