Surface Mount Production Technologist

If your answer is yes, we invite you to apply todayOpportunity: Permanent Full TimeLocation: Saanichton, BC Hours: 40 hours per weekStandard core office hours: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PMPay rate: $25/hour to $28/hourAdvantages• Opportunity to work in a Permanent Full Time position with a leader in the industry• Work in an environment that values strategic and technical excellence and encourages creative solutions• Professional yet hands-on work in a fast-paced environment with minimum supervision• Overtime eligible to meet project demands (upon approval)Responsibilities• Operate and maintain all Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment (screen printer, pick/place machine, reflow oven, Automated Optical Inspection, and X-Ray), including daily setup, shutdown, and changeovers• Load materials (feeders, solder paste, stencils, components) based on Bills of Materials (BoMs) and align machines for correct component placement on Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assemblies• Monitor line performance, diagnose and resolve SMT machine errors, and perform routine preventive maintenance• Conduct visual and automated inspection to identify defects and ensure compliance with industry quality standards (IPC)• Manage material handling, control nonconforming products, track component inventory, and maintain production logs• Ensure safety and compliance, following Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection procedures and adherence to workplace organization (5S) principlesQualifications• Education: B. Diploma or degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, or a related field (IPC certification is an asset)• Experience: 1-3 years' experience in an SMT or PCB assembly environment is preferred• Technical Skills: Deep understanding of SMT/PCB assembly; proficient in soldering, reflow profiling, and specific electronics manufacturing quality standards (IPC-610); ability to read board layouts, Gerber files, and assembly drawings• General Skills: Knowledge of production techniques, standards, quality control principles, and proficient computer skills• Travel: it is very but Must have a valid passport and authorization to travel• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, commitment to high standards of workmanship, and strong interpersonal skillsSummaryTwo easy ways to apply:1.
