Job Description What is the opportunity?Join RBC as the Senior Director, Commercial Banking Business Management, a strategic leadership role driving governance, transformation, and operational excellence within Commercial Banking (CB). You’ll oversee technology investment prioritization, executive governance, and employee engagement while ensuring alignment with CB’s strategic goals. This role is critical to fostering collaboration, transparency, and impactful decision-making across the organization.What will you do?This role demands a strategic leader with a relentless focus on execution, transparency, and cross-functional partnership to advance RBC’s Commercial Banking objectives.Lead technology investment portfolio management, including funding prioritization, approval processes, and reporting to ensure strategic alignment and financial compliance.Manage executive governance for the CB Operating Committee (OC) and COO SMT, setting agendas, tracking action items, and ensuring robust discussions.Drive the Quarterly Transformation Process (QTP) to monitor progress, resolve issues, and align near-term actions across transformation initiatives.Support CB-wide initiatives such as financial planning, HR programs, and OKR/goal setting, fostering cross-functional collaboration.Enhance employee engagement through leadership forums, townhalls, and communication strategies, partnering with Corporate Communications for key events.Oversee Emerald Value Capture performance, identifying opportunities to maximize portfolio value for CB.Act as a liaison between the CB COO Team and CB Business Managers, ensuring visibility into deliverables and strategic priorities.Collaborate with T&O, Finance, Operations and Personal Banking on investment prioritization, initiative management, and strategy alignment.What do you need to succeed?Must-have:8-10 Years experience in proven leadership roles in portfolio or program management8-10 Years experience working with senior executives, including governance deliverables and, and cross-functional alignment.Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and bridge divergent views.Financial and business acumen, with a track record of driving strategic outcomes, managing complex budgets and maintaining strong financial governancePeople management experience and ability to foster high-performing teams.Resilience and adaptability to navigate challenges and drive outcomes in a dynamic environment.High emotional intelligence (EQ) for effective interpersonal and stakeholder management.Nice-to-have:Familiarity with banking/financial services, particularly Commercial Banking operations and transformation initiatives.Experience in employee engagement strategies and large-scale communication programs.Knowledge of RBC’s governance frameworks (e.g., OC/SMT processes, QTP, Emerald Value Capture).Change management expertise to support organizational agility and initiative execution.Advanced analytical skills for data-driven decision-making in portfolio and financial management.What’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
