Role: Electrical Automation Engineer Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week) (Up to 44 hours) Contract Duration: 6 month+ Contract (possibility of Contract-to-Hire/Extension) Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri) Location: 100% Onsite - Markham, Ontario, Canada Project Description This role delivers automation programs to our client's plants where Optimus general assembly and cell manufacturing is conducted. Unfortunately, we won't be able to divulge the specifics of the projects, but we have listed a variety of them from our job posting for both roles: "designing, building, and deploying client's in-house discrete and process automation equipment solutions for Optimus, cell manufacturing, energy, and vehicle general assembly." Duties/Day to Day Overview A day-to-day for Electrical might involve: Designing electrical schematics for Power Distribution panels or low voltage control panels in EPlan Electric P8. They would be referencing standard component lists and selecting cutting-edge hardware to meet the needs of the process. They may be putting together a Bill of Materials for purchasing to procure the equipment they selected. They would be doing analysis using SISTEMA to ensure safety hardware is selected appropriately. They would be liaising with the shop and mechanical engineering to ensure electrical designs work cohesively with mechanical design and the build. Top Requirements (Must haves) MUST HAVE: Strong experience with EPlan Electric P8 MUST HAVE experience with Siemens and Beckhoff, primarily Siemens would be great MUST HAVE experience with Profinet & EtherCAT MUST HAVE experience with high voltage panels – We do up to 480VAC Must have low voltage experience – Our low voltage panels are 24VDC We would NOT be looking for candidates with utility electrical design experience (i.e., 100,000 VAC equipment) Leadership experience is always nice to have, especially during the initial design phase when discussing with our customer, but we primarily need individual contributors with the ability to lead a team of electricians on site and during initial build.
