We are currently seeking a Business Membership Advisor to join our team.The Business Membership Advisor acts as a subject matter expert on business memberships and is responsible for opening new unassigned business memberships in accordance with applicable policies and guidelines, seeking sales and referral opportunities during meetings with prospective business members, and making appropriate introductions to other lines of business. Priorities include completing discovery meetings with prospective business members to identify their goals, completing sales of suitable products, identifying high-value prospective members and referring them to an appropriate Business or Commercial Banking Advisor, and transferring knowledge and expertise to retail team members.Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical dayMember Service: Handles all new and unassigned business membership requests in a virtual environment. Responsible for discovering member needs and either fulfills or refers to the appropriate advisor. Helps create a consistent member experience for all business members, which includes working closely with the branches and the Member Advice Centre. Sales and Service Strategy: Achieves or exceeds sales goals by providing services to prospective business banking members and initiating referrals to product specialists as required.Compliance and Audit: Ensures that every membership is opened in accordance with applicable procedures and guidelines. Acts as the first line of defense for First West.Business Expertise: Acts as a business membership subject matter expert. Builds strong relationships with each branch and works to build branch skillsets to help our business members. Business Credit Applications: Completes matrix approved business lending requests for members where the need has been identified. May also complete a needs assessment for creditor insurance as necessary.Organizational Goals: Supports the achievement of First West’s annual goals and objectives through proactive promotion of First West products and services, and actively seeks potential referral opportunities during interactions with members or general public. Achieves established annual sales and referral targets.Required Skills, Experience & QualificationsDiploma in Business or related discipline preferred2 years experience in retail, business, or commercial lending as well as sales requiredKnowledge regarding different business structures such as trusts, corporations, and partnerships preferredStrong relationship builder and communicator with a demonstrated ability to work well in a team environmentResults oriented attitude with demonstrated business development techniquesStrong organization and time management skills with the flexibility to adapt to a constantly changing environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, specifically Excel and WordDisplays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.Overnight travel may be occasionally required, up to 6 times per year
