Job Description: The Center for Cybersecurity Innovation (C4CyI) is seeking motivated individuals interested in working on a high-profile, grant-funded project that helps small businesses stay safe from cyberattacks. You'll conduct virtual interviews with small businesses, asking standardized questions regarding hardware and infrastructure, policies, identity access management, backups, and training. You'll be assessing their issues and documenting recommendations for next steps. You'll also be responding to help desk tickets submitted by small businesses with resources and guidance. This is a great opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students interested in Cybersecurity and IT. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Conducting virtual interviews with small businesses, asking standardized questions, and taking detailed notes.Entering notes into the Customer Relationship Management software.Assessing client notes and generating recommendations for next steps, including reference resources.Performing diversified research duties of moderate complexity.Performing many distinctly different research functions involving several procedural steps.Evaluating and analyzing research problems of average difficulty.Adjusting known methods, techniques and procedures.Performing evaluation and/or interpretation of data.Entering or retrieving computer data or preparing computer-related documentation.Recommending methodological and procedural changes as needed.Maintaining records, preparing graphs and tables, and assisting with report preparation.Performing other related duties as assigned. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have completed IS 345 or IS 471.Graduate applicants may have an undergraduate degree with identified courses or 11A/11B.Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.Applicants must be enrolled in at least 5 credits (undergraduate) or 3 credits (graduate).Applicants must be familiar with the most current research in the subject.Applicants must have strong customer service skills and be able to work with others at all levels, have a professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills, strong communication skills, and emotional intelligence. Additional Information: This position is grant-funded. Due to the terms of this grant and federal law, individuals with citizenship in China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, and the Maduro Regime are not eligible for this position. Training will begin in April 2025 on campus. Work is performed remotely after training. This position includes a ticketing system. Work is conducted when the customer is available. This position pays the minimum wage of $20.76/hour. Weekly hours are limited to 19.5 hours. If the student holds another campus job, the total hours worked between the jobs may not exceed 19.5 per week during the academic quarter. We will consider students who cannot work a full 19.5 hours per week.
