The Lab Assistant performs a variety of laboratory tasks, which require learned manual skills rather than a technological training, to assist the trained technologists in various sections within the Department of Laboratory Medicine.Schedule Work HoursSchedule Work Hours days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidaysThis position is temporary until January 2027. Qualifications1. Grade 12 education or recognized equivalent2. OSMT Certified Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate3. Minimum (3 years) experience is required with demonstrated Order Entry Skills4. Demonstrated experience in receiving and handling Laboratory Specimens5. Experience and demonstrated proficiency in venous and capillary blood collection and collection for adults, pediatrics, and infants, and collection of other body fluids as necessary6. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment7.
