Job DescriptionThe House of Commons Digital Service and Real Property is currently looking to staff the IT Support Specialist position.As an IT Support Specialist, you are responsible for maintaining the seamless operation of computer systems, laptops, and equipment within the Parliament Precinct Network. Your primary duties will encompass providing Information Technology support and troubleshooting services to Parliamentary Precinct users, which include Members of the House of Commons, House Officers, House of Commons Administration, Library of Parliament, PWGSC Translation Bureau, and more. You will prioritize tickets from the Incident Management Tracking System Receive and resolve technical issues involving hardware, software, and databases, responding promptly within established service level agreements in person onsite visits, over the phone, by email. Additionally, your role involves analyzing, troubleshooting, and offering consultation services when incidents occur, along with recommending appropriate courses of action. You will work collaboratively within a team environment on various projects and coordinate with service providers for warranty and non-warranty item repairs and replacements.The House of Commons standard technical environment includes Windows 10 and 11, Microsoft Office 2010, 2019, and 365, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, Apple & Android devices utilizing Intune, as well as remote management tools like SCCM, SMS, and Active Directory Group policies.The business requirement for this role is working from the office five days a week.Top Reasons to Join User Services: If you're already making an impact by maintaining critical technical infrastructure, providing exceptional user support, and collaborating with teams across the organization, this is an opportunity to take the next step in your career. Continue driving excellence in technology and supportTraining and development opportunities.Work-life balance /35-hour workweek4 weeks’ vacation (minimum)QualificationsEducation :A post-secondary school degree or diploma in an IT related field OR an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience.Experience :Experience installing, configuring, testing, supporting and resolving problems on Windows based personal computer hardware and software in a corporate networked environment;Experience in troubleshooting and supporting Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Teams;Experience in supporting Exchange Online, Apple & Android Devices.Assets :Experience working with incident management systems;Recent experience in installing, configuring, troubleshooting and supporting of current generation mobile devices and their respective operating systems (Apple iOS and Android);Recent experience troubleshooting and support of Apple's Device enrollment Program (DEP) and Android Knox Mobile Enrollment (KME) devices in a corporate environment;Experience in installing, configuring and supporting a voice over IP (VoIP) Telephone system.Additional InformationWe are committed to creating an inclusive workplace by providing a barrier-free recruitment and selection process.
