Case Manager

Under the general supervision of the Manager of Case Management Services the Case Manager (Floater) is responsible for working closely with job seekers to conduct intakes, assess service suitability, develop and implement action plans, and secure employment. The Case Manager (Floater) will step in to provide coverage support to the WorkBC catchment during times of high client demand and/or staffing shortages caused by role vacancies and/or staff vacations. The Case Manager (Floater) position in unique in that it will provide services and support to the WorkBC catchment when coverage is required, such as during vacations and role vacancies and will not oversee a caseload on a long-term, ongoing basis. The Case Manager (Floater) will focus on intakes, action plan follow-up, and employment placements and will contribute to the overall goals and objectives of the project. The position is part of a multi-agency team who supports linking clients to employment and training opportunities, while upholding the YWCA's mission and values.  What you’ll be doing  Provide temporary caseload coverage (client follow ups and meetings) during times of high client demand and/or role vacancies. Administer Client Needs Assessments and Disability-Related Employment Needs Assessments to reduce client wait times  Assess client needs and develop an individualized action plan to meet goals Support clients to achieve sustainable employment including addressing any client barriers and building on client strengths Collect employment details and documentation from clients when sustainable employment is achieved  Accurate and timely reporting on client progress, and milestones using databases Maintain an organized and current client filing system including managing follow up  Keep abreast of labour market trends, employment issues, community resources, job training, and employment opportunities Work as part of a multi-faceted, multi-agency team to deliver a comprehensive employment program designed to meet individual needs of clients  Connect clients to needed employment programming, community resources and wraparound supports  Ensure file consistency and documentation Connect clients with internal workshop schedule  Ensure safety plan and basic needs are in place and work with clients to refer to counselling, community resources, and any other appropriate referrals as appropriate  Familiar with and able to work with clients using the latest technology Adhering to onsite Health and Safety Procedures  Other duties as required  What you’ll need:  Passion for helping job seekers achieve their goals through providing holistic supports  Knowledge of community resources and the labour market  Case Management and/or employment counselling experience an asset  Relevant post-secondary degree or diploma, or a combination of relevant education and experience  Works well independently and as part of a team  Ability to communicate effectively with clients in person and virtually with proven ability to document progress notes  Demonstrated skills with all Microsoft applications (i.e. Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams)  Able to show initiative, flexibility and demonstrate a positive attitude towards change and work  A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required.  Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle to support weekly outreach activities What we Offer:  We offer our eligible employees the following benefits as part of their total compensation package:  extended medical and dental benefits  a defined benefit pension plan  flexible working arrangements for applicable positions  Employee Family Assistance Program, a confidential and voluntary support service for employees and their eligible family members  free membership to our Health + Fitness Centre, discounts at our YWCA Hotel and priority in YWCA Child Care centres  a workplace that prioritizes employee health, safety and wellbeing, including many learning and growth opportunities such as our staff mentorship program and three equity committees who help to support our goals towards achieving meaningful equity and inclusion.  Pay Rate: $35.20 per hour
