How you’ll make an impact The vacant Cutting Line Operator role in our Stacked Core department is responsible for accurately cutting steel into various strip widths for transformer core assembly, based on customer specifications and internal quality standards. This hands-on role includes loading steel coils onto the decoiler, feeding steel by hand, programming cut widths, performing quality inspections to ensure precise measurements, and ensuring proper material handling. Hourly rate: $25.43 per hour, plus shift premium Please note this role is a continental rotating shift (11-12 hour shifts rotating between days and nights) Key Responsibilities Set up, operate and monitor cutting machines to cut materials into specified dimensions Load and unload coils safely and make necessary machine adjustments for optimal performance Read and interpret work orders to cut steel strips accurately using various machine control and programming software Perform regular quality inspections during the cutting process, ensuring all measurements and tolerances meet customer and company standards Complete and maintain accurate records, including work orders, measurement sheets, production reports, quality control forms, OEE data Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and tape measures; convert between measurement units as needed Conduct basic troubleshooting of machines and workflow issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity Operate overhead cranes safely to handle and position materials Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and safety standards Working continental day and night shift rotations Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED/CAEC) required; t echnical or vocational training preferred 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment required Prior experience setting up, operating and troubleshooting Cutting, Slitting, CNC machinery or related equipment required Possess basic knowledge of programming software Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics Familiarity with production equipment and safety standards Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Basic math and measurement skills (e.g., using vernier caliper, micrometers, Allan Key, tape measurer or rulers); ability to convert measurements Strong attention to detail and quality control Ability to work independently or in a team environment Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks Good communication skills, both verbal and written Organized and able to manage tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Why JFE Shoji Power?
