The newly opened Grande Prairie Regional Hospital provides a variety of career development opportunities. You will be in a fast paced, dynamic, multi-disciplinary acute care setting including possible placements in the Stroke Unit Equivalency Care team, In-patient Rehabilitation, Surgery and Medicine. Outpatient opportunities include a Hand Clinic, High Risk Foot Clinic, and general Out-patients. Our department focuses on the trained therapy assistant functioning at full scope, with continuous development. We invite you to discuss the opportunities and your areas of interest. The current remuneration includes a Remote Retention Allowance up to $3,000 annually.

Description

As a Therapy Assistant, you will work under the assignment, monitoring, and evaluation of an audiologist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, recreation therapist, or speech-language pathologist. You will contribute to effective rehabilitation services including client care across the health care continuum for all ages as well as non-client service provision. This role requires effective work with partners, professionalism, and strong ethics in client-centered care. You will demonstrate reflective thinking and lifelong learning that enhances individual and team competency, with opportunities to contribute to quality improvement, program planning, and student supervision.
