During the proposal and execution phases of projects carried out in alternative modes, the FF&E Manager oversees, coordinates and monitors the planning, design, procurement, installation and commissioning of all new and existing equipment for the project. Depending on the size and characteristics of the project, the FF&E Manager may be assigned to manage one or more individuals.
What You Will Do
With the Design Manager, establish responsibilities for FF&E related tasks for the project, in addition to assisting in the design process by performing the following tasks related to FF&E (non-exhaustive list): Coordinate with the professionals involved (architects, professional engineers and specialized consultants) during design development;
- Conduct design reviews to confirm all necessary utilities and structural considerations have been designed to support the necessary new and existing equipment requirements for the project;
- Manage the technical documents, FF&E inventory and reviews using a document management system;
- Follow up on the client’s design criteria by liaising between the various disciplines and suppliers;
- Coordinate the FF&E requirements with the commissioning planning team for the project.
- Create and monitor the status of the Equipment list, existing equipment inventory list and provide updates to the Design Manager and Project Director.
- Maintain up to date knowledge on industry FF&E including available products, lead times, BIM Model libraries, product specifications and regional supply chain issues.
- Manage the preparation of FF&E related deliverables including drawings (by external consultants or and internal team), equipment lists and databases.
- Collaborate with the construction team in reviewing procurement schedule, procurement packages, requests for alternates, purchase orders, installation and commissioning.
- Support the development of cost estimates for project required equipment and services related to the equipment (relocation, inventory, commissioning etc.)
- Assist in the development of the schedule that considers the procurement, delivery, installation, commissioning and training.
This role could be for you if you have
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in engineering, architecture, industrial design, interior design or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in an FF&E role.
- Able to demonstrate initiative, innovation and thoroughness.
- Strong background in FF&E for Healthcare.
- Excellent ability to analyze and review, good sense of judgment and excellent communication skills.
- Able to work effectively with all project team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stress well.
- Fluent in English, French is an asset but not required.
