ROLE PURPOSE

This position is responsible for supporting the Senior Manager of Community Living with leading, supervising and administering staff and programs within Connective in accordance with all related contractual agreements and within the framework of the Mission Statement and Core Values of the organization focused on delivering services to individuals living with diverse abilities. This position will support the residential program for individuals receiving services from Community Living BC (CLBC).

STATUS AND CLASSIFICATION

Exempt. This position is open to applicants of all genders.

SHIFT HOURS

Full- Time Candidates, 40 hours a week

  • Sunday to Thursday

REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports and is accountable to the Senior Manager of Programs or their designate
  • Function as a multi-disciplinary team member
  • Liaises with staff and volunteers of community and government agencies as required
  • Liaises with the staff and management of Connective,
  • On-call manager duties within the established rotation

Key Accountabilities

  • Scheduling for program staff ensuring staff coverage as required to meet contractual obligations while following the collective agreement and local issues agreement requirements
  • Support the implementation of Behavioural Support Plans, Safety plans and Risk management plans
  • Participates alongside agency P&C in recruitment, screening and interviewing of new program staff and volunteers
  • Provides initial program orientation (onsite training) for staff and volunteers
  • Supports Management with HR and Labour Relations issues within the program
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, case consultation and performance management for individual staff and worksite teams
  • Supports the implementation of policies and procedures, including developing appropriate manuals, brochures and handbooks for programs
  • Participates in development and provision of training, both one on one and group as required to maintain and enhance program staff skills and performance
  • Provides feedback and guidance to staff during their daily interactions to ensure adherence to agency policy, procedure, program and contractual expectations and requirements
  • Ensures that Connective program facilities fulfill all fire, health and safety regulations
  • Adhere to, and be responsible to demonstrate, compliance with CARF standards
  • Perform other related duties as required

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Function independently, while remaining a crucial member of the Connective team
  • Adhere to Connective’s policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • University degree in the Behavioural Sciences or a combination of equivalent related education and a minimum of 1-3 years of experience including supervisory or management experience
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations including those with mental health, developmental disabilities and addictions
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of health and justice issues, especially the determinants of health affecting complex needs individuals
  • Ability to effectively utilize various agency systems and technology platforms
  • Experience working from a trauma informed practice approach

Requirements

  • Well-developed verbal and written communication, planning, administrative skills, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrate inclusive language for marginalized and vulnerable populations
  • Criminal Records Checks
  • Emergency First Aid
  • Class 5 driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain a Class 4 driver’s license — to be paid for by Connective
  • Personal transportation that is in good repair, insured for business up to $1mil for liability, and which must be accessible when on shift

Compensation

The wage range for this position is $58,000 to $68,000

Important: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada, observe their weekly hours limit if under a temporary or study visa, and provide proof of eligibility if selected for the role.
