Role Overview

The Registered Nurse plays a critical role in our communities, impacting the lives of our residents and fostering meaningful connections. Your typical day will involve providing nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician orders, and resident plans of care. You will utilize sound nursing practice principles to deliver excellent care and ensure the well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and accessible admissions for residents, including comprehensive orientations to our facilities and services.
  • Ensure safe and timely resident transfers and discharges.
  • Oversee the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, adhering to protocols on assigned shifts.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of our residents.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, acting as the emergency manager until relieved by designated personnel.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional team to support effective clinical care for all residents.
  • Participate in in-services and education of nursing team members and other departments as required.
  • Act as a role model for nursing team members, adhering to professional guidelines and relevant legislation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent degree.
  • Current registration with the BC College of Nursing Professionals (applicable to British Columbia applicants).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Minimum two years related clinical experience, preferably in rehabilitation or long-term care nursing.
  • Sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care nursing, including activation, activity programs, and nursing administration.
  • Familiarity with the nursing process, developments, and current trends in the geriatric care field.
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check (applicable to British Columbia applicants).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum two years related clinical experience, preferably in rehabilitation or long-term care nursing.
  • Certificate in gerontological nursing preferred.

Compensation

We offer a competitive hourly wage range of $41.42-$55.91 per hour until the end of the wage leveling period, after which pay rates will reflect the collective agreement's terms. This position is available for full-time, permanent employment. The schedule includes evening and night shifts. A Registered Nurse (RN) License is required for this role.

Location

This role is based in-person at one of our locations.
