Corpay is currently looking to hire a Director of Engineering. This position falls under our PayByPhone line of business located in Vancouver, Canada. In this role, the Engineering Director of Cloud Services is responsible for management and work of Corpay’s software engineering teams (managers, developers, architect, quality assurance and site reliability engineers). You will be responsible for delivering global trustworthy services that enable both mobile and desktop applications. Main responsibilities include workflow design and management and collaborating with engineering team managers and internal departments on process, needs, strategy and work. This position requires a deep understanding of our product capabilities, customer’s needs, process, and technology; it drives the operation and development of our products through teamwork on infrastructure, product enhancements, customer integrations or new product development. The Director of Engineering must have a solid command of a modern technology stack and exceptional communication, collaboration, and development skills.The salary range for this role is $190k CAD - $220k CAD per year.How We WorkAs a Director of Engineering you will be expected to work in a hybrid environment reporting to our Vancouver office location. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:Assigned workspace in a home office set upMonthly home internet stipendRole ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of the role will include:Strategy & Architecture:Provides leadership on overall strategy for the transformation initiative and desired maturity targets YOYPartners with the LOB CIO’s and Enterprise Architecture leader to ensure teams are designing, delivering solutions in line with FLT IT’s target architecture modelsDelivery LeadershipFully accountable, empowered leadership role where the service line issues/delivery buck stopsEngages with Scrum Masters and Product Owners to ensure Quality deliveryPromotes adherence of designs to Fleetcor policies and standards, architectural principles and guidelinesFocus on repeatable and scalable process structures and reporting mechanisms are put in place to run a large portfolio of work in on-shore/offshore modelBusiness EngagementThinks, acts and runs the Development center as a line of BusinessPrimary business engagement leader for the LOB CIO with a potential to expand with other LOB CIO’sLeads Service reviews – portfolio, projects status and Incidents RCA’s etc.Validates Customers experience and satisfaction measurement regularlyTeam DevelopmentEnsuring the right talent and vendor partners are deployed and assesses the right mix, scale-up plans constantlyMentors & develops the talent in line with FLT’s future Tech strategyQualifications & Skills15+ years in Software Engineering leadership roles with a successful track record of leading large transformations, developing and managing IT workforce in a highly matrixed environment with global (On-shore, Off-shore, Near-shore) delivery modelsProven Technical leadership and exposure across a broad scale of IT experience in tools, technologies, and architecture models with ability to drive strategy, and also roll-up the sleeves and switch to fair amount of detail/executionExcellent and demonstrated success in building and delivering global enterprise quality services in AWS cloudProven experience with Cloud enablement programs, legacy applications lift/shift and transformation strategiesStrong, proactive leadership and high influencing capabilities – inspiring fellowship and keen interest in developing strong next level leaders with clear lines of accountabilityEffectively Influence, negotiate and lead technology alternative evaluations and implementations within both Business and ITEffectively manages tradeoffs between speed to market, quality and any potential financial impacts.Ability to comfortably and credibly present to senior management.
